Feb 15 admissions deadline

Hi, everyone!

Hayden, Kristen, and I have been busy interviewing this year. Each of us has conducted at least 4 interviews.

If you haven't had an interview either on campus or with one of us and you'd like to schedule one, be mindful that our reports must be submitted by Feb 15 in order to be included with your application. That means, schedule now!

We look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best in this busy season!

Kristen, Hayden, and Mariquita

A Thank-You from Madison White '16

Thank-You from Madison White '16

Dear Minnesota Alums,

This is just a brief note to thank you all for everything that you did to help me toward graduation in the last 4 years. From the time when I was a prospie going to teas and having my interview, your Club was incredibly welcoming + warm. Getting my rose when I was admitted was such a special moment and your care packages during finals time completely brightened my day. I've loved meeting you and getting to know the world beyond Smith through you all.

More than all those things, though, I wanted to thank you for all the money you fundraise for the scholarship that allowed me to attend Smith. I don't think I could have even considered applying to Smith without scholarships available. I met so many amazing people, I did a semester abroad, I wrote a senior thesis with original research, + I learned so much thanks to your contributions.

I'm so honored to have joined such an incredible group of alums.

Madison White

Applicants' Tea

Applicants' TeaFifteen people attended the Applicants' Tea held on the cold wintry day of Jan 10, 2016, at the lovely home of Barbara Klaas '74. Current student McKenna Eckerline '18 fielded questions from prospective students and family members about college life while Barbara, Kristen Zoldan '06, and Mariquita Anderson '86 spoke of the importance of a women's college in their lives and about the all-important Smith network.

Thank you, Barbara, for hosting and thank you, McKenna, for teaching all of us what's current at Smith. We look forward to seeing who among the attendees will attend Smith in the Fall.

We do know of three students who will be entering Smith this Fall. They are Fall Early Decision candidates who were accepted in December:

  • Simran Rayna Alter of Central High School in Saint Paul
  • Anne Elizabeth Lepow of Edina High School, daughter of Smith Day Silent Auction co-chair Martha Phelps '87
  • Corrina Marie Pascale also of Edina High School

Please join us in congratulating these young women! They'll be invited to the Accepted Students Brunch in April and the Summer Send-Off Party in August.
